Old Red, It Exists, really

Post by Steve on Sat Jun 12, 2010 9:38 pm

I have been doing some scanning and decided to post a couple of pictures of my Mayan Red 1979 400 4 Speed. The first two are scans from 10 years ago and the last is a recent picture. I have been talking about it at the shows but no one has ever seen it. I think I got carried away in the restorations.

This car has very few options, the 400/4 speed, an orange hood bird, WS6 (required with the 400) roof drip moldings, and rear window defrost. That's about it. The interior is the standard with oyster (white) seats and red appointments. The seats, door panels, headliner, and rear compartment plastic are oyter while the dash, console, package tray, and carpet are all carmine red. I can't wait to get this car together again.

For 1979 this car must have been special ordered because it was rare that these cars came to the dealer lots with very few options such as the 4 speed, WS6 and 400.
