Open Meeting of the Pioneer Valley Firebirds and Membership Drive: Sunday 2pm

Post by Steve on Wed Mar 28, 2012 9:51 pm

The Pioneer Valley Firebird Association is holding it's first meeting on Sunday, April 1 to organize the club and begin planning for 2012 events. The meeting will be at 2pm in The Headquarters Bar and Grille, 485 Springfield Street in Agawam Mass. The club goal: to enhance the enjoyment of our hobby by getting people and cars together.

So far it looks like we will have a good turn out for the first meeting. All are welcome, Firebird owners and Firebird enthusiasts alike. See below for a preliminary agenda for the meeting

  • We need a treasurer to collect dues and manage the checking account.
  • Once again we are sponsoring a Best Firebird trophy at the Pioneer Valley GTO Association show on June 3rd. This show has generating significant Firebird attendance so, depending on dues collected, we may want to sponsor additional Firebird trophies. We need to decide whether the trophies will be awarded by popular vote from PVFA members or should we supply judges?
  • What events for 2012 should we make official club cruises?
  • Most clubs organize either one show a year or weekly cruise nights to raise money for charity. These are quite a bit of work so we will look for leaders and volunteers to initiate.
  • If we move to do some fund raising activities we need to select a charity.
  • Do we need bylaws? If so we need to develop these to accomodate the clubs primary objective: to enhance the enjoyment of our hobby by getting people and cars together.
  • We need some content for our web site. We would like to make this web site more of a community site. Perhaps we can do stories on members cars or acquire our own message board. At a minimum we need to have club news.
